Here is the signature piece for this series. I used colors for spring as the base and then their opposites… 9 x 12, acrylic, monoprint.

this one has iridescent metallic – maybe green-gold – can’t remember –

black and gray – I am imagining that I am going to sew these images together on another piece of paper maybe and then project the silhouette of a horse onto the back, cut it out and mount it onto 18 x 24 wood. I might do like a simple tonal background or just leave it wood. Not sure. I never think art through like this, so not sure it will work. Who knows?

But I will “make it work” – because I am a professional artist and this is for a good cause so even if I end up covering all these prints – I will still make it work.

I just honestly still don’t “get” the thrill of the gelli print yet – I don’t like the stamps, I don’t like the stencils, except for the one horse stencil I made – but not the others –

It’s torturing me to learn this technique – but I must do something different as I am so bored with everything else – so I am out here with my machete wacking a new path…

• but it will work itself out. I have never done collage – never worked with prints – or mixing prints – patterns – never dealt with that – this is very challenging…

yeesh – normally I would discard a lot of these but I need the 8 – to make up the size I am doing…very difficult for me – I am used to getting my way with art and being satisfied with it immediately.

this has some iridescent silver – I like it sorta – but I am simply not getting the thrill that people who do gelli prints get. Oh well. Maybe some day.

I was going to buy a 16 x 20 plate for this project but no way am I spending $250 on one of those until I break the code on this technique – that would totally overwhelm me – so I am using the 8 x 10 for the 9 x 12 paper and it will just be fine.
