18″ x 24″ Monoprint Acrylic Collage on Wood, 7/25
I believe it is finished – the full moon is July 10th and that will be the day when I decide – the next New Moon is July 24th, and I am going out of town that week, so I want to at least know what the horse is for Leo then… so I believe the last thing I have to do is to varnish this piece with Matte Acrylic Varnish.
I cut out each leaf individually and glued it down and added stars.

The challenge of this painting was that I only made blue papers when I pulled for December 27th

I didn’t really want to make a blue horse because that would echo Blucifer at the Denver Airport, so I decided to make the background out of the blue paper and make the horse – dark purple, plus incorporate the Crab in the sky… for the Constellation.
I had traced the horse using my astro projector onto vellum and then I used old mimeograph paper to transfer it to the collage

Since all I had was blue, I decided to put down a blue background to minimize the white “in-betweens” so white could be a color, because when you rip the paper the white shows as part of the rip.
